Bohra community celebrated the Eid-ul-Fitr with all fervour and gaiety on Tuesday. Namaz was offered in all Bohra community mosques of the city. After prayers, people went for preaching and greeted each other. After attending morning prayers, people greeted each other and collectively prayed for everyone’s good health, happiness and prosperity. Society spokesman Ibrahim Ali Dawoodi said, “We traditionally celebrate Eid, and break the fast, by eating ‘kharak’ (dried stuffed dates) and preparing and serving ‘sheer khurma’. During Ramadan, the city and our members in different parts of the world gathered in their local mosques and community centers in a spirit of prayer and unity. We hosted community meals, organised Quran recitation and memorisation programs, and carried out various social welfare activities.He said that prayers were offered at Hydari Masjid, Aliganj, Badri Masjid, Safia College, Ahmadi Masjid, Bhopal Talkies Hussaini Masjid, Peergate, Burhari Masjid, Karound and Noor Mahal. People of the community broke their month long fast that is known as Ramadan.
 
Apart from this, people from Muslim community are likely to celebrate the festival of Eid-ul-Fitr on April 11. Women from community have done their shopping to mark the occasion as per the tradition. Huge rush of shoppers was seen in market for past two days. Muslim worldwide celebrate this day. From clothes to mouth-watering eatables, all shops were having beeline in market. People were purchasing frock styled suits, chikan kurta, perfume, scent, footwears, burka, prayer mats and other essential items. Shoppers in market were seen excited to mark the first roja with all rituals and traditional fervour. During holy month of Ramadan, people visited mosques to offer prayer for five times a day. In this month, people gave donations and helped people as part of charity. They also avoided wrong doing while fasting and spent most of time in prayers.
