Chief Election Officer of Madhya Pradesh, Anupam Rajan reviewed the preparations for General Elections 2024 in Jabalpur, Rewa and Shahdol divisions at Hotel Kalchuri Residency, on Tuesday. Addressing the meeting, CEO MP, Anupam Rajan instructed the district election officers for ensuring independent, impartial and transparent elections in their respective areas and accelerating the disposal of complaints pertaining to the election. DEOs should strictly monitor the redressal of complaints in regular intervals. He also said for ensuring adequate shelter at polling stations and other essential facilities for voters amidst the summer season while sector officers should carry medical kit and necessary medicines with them.
 
During the meeting, Election Commission, Nodal Officer Police, Anshuman Singh, Joint CEO MP, Vivek Shrotiya, Commissioner, Jabalpur Division, Abhay Verma, IG Jabalpur, Anil Kushwaha and Collectors and SPs of all the district were present. Review meeting of Jabalpur division was followed by review of preparations in Rewa and Shahdol divisions. CEO MP, Rajan said for ensuring strict implementation of Election Model Code of Conduct and taking stern action on its violation. Every single person who is probably to hinder election process should be promptly bound-over with immediate effect. He sought information about prohibitory action taken against listed criminals in the district. He instructed the police officers for ensuring tight security arrangements in vulnerable and critical polling booth areas and taking prompt action in case of finding any information about threatening or alluring the voters.
 
Officers were also directed for strict checking of vehicles on border check-posts. SPs should conduct inspection of polling centres where more than five polling booths are established. Emphasizing over security of critical and vulnerable polling booths, CEO MP, Anupam Rajan informed that the Election Commission has allowed the installation of 75 percent CCTV cameras of total numbers of polling centres for webcasting where it is required. CCTVs can be installed in and outside of the polling centres. CEO also sought information about SVEEP activities for encouraging the voters and increasing polling percentage. He directed the DEOs to identify the lowest polling areas in previous elections for encouragement of residents for polling.
