BJP State Vice-President and State Convener of the Election Management Committee Shivratan Sharma has strongly criticised Dr Charan Das Mahant, CLP Leader for his use of indecent language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Sharma highlighted Mahant’s statement as a breach of political decorum and called for accountability. Expressing concern over Mahant’s behavior in a press conference on Tuesday, Sharma stated that despite the Election Commission’s instructions, Mahant and other Congress leaders persistently engage in vulgar language directed towards Prime Minister. An FIR has been lodged against Mahant following a complaint filed under the Election Commission’s directives.

Sharma posed a series of questions to Mahant, challenging him on whether he would hold other politicians accountable for unfulfilled promises, including Bhupesh Baghel and Sonia Gandhi. He criticised the Congress party for its failure to fulfill commitments made in its 2018 election manifesto, accusing them of deceit and corruption. In contrast, Sharma highlighted the achievements of the Vishnu Deo Sai-led BJP government, emphasising the fulfilment of numerous promises within three months of assuming office. These include substantial financial transfers to farmers, progress on Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, and support for marginalised communities. Sharma also accused Congress leaders, including Kawasi Lakhma, of inciting violence and displaying a lack of mental balance. He condemned the Congress’s campaign tactics, labelling them as false propaganda aimed at undermining PM Modi’s credibility.

Responding to allegations of target killings during the Congress’s tenure, Sharma attributed the violence to the party’s leadership, implying their involvement in orchestrating such incidents. Sharma affirmed BJP’s unwavering support for PM Modi and condemned Congress’s attempts to tarnish his image. He expressed confidence in the electorate’s discernment, predicting a resounding victory for BJP in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Leader of Opposition Charan Das Mahant had again stirred up controversy by calling Prime Minister ‘Defaulter’ while speaking to media persons. Mahant stated Prime Minister’s guarantee is failing for the past 10 years, neither 2 crore jobs were generated nor anyone got Rs 15 lakh. His guarantees have failed and people in Chhattisgarh understand that he is defaulter. His guarantees don’t mean anything to them.
