JANHVI Hirudkar brought laurels to her school by clinching gold at the 67th National School Field Championship. The championship was organised at Patliputra Sports Complex in Patna recently. Representing Maharashtra in the Under-17 girls category, Nagpur girl Janhvi bagged gold medal in the 1500m race. She was successful in completing the distance in 4.39.33 minutes. Janhvi was picked in the Maharashtra squad after she secured first position in the 1500m event in State-level school field competition held at Chandrapur.
 
This is Janhvi’s second national gold medal this year, as she had won her first in the 2km event in the Under-16 girls category at the National Cross Country Championships held in Gaya, Bihar in the month of January. Janhvi, a student of Hindu Girls School, practices under the guidance of Ashfaque Sheikh. President of Stree Shikshan Prasarak Mandal Ravindra Fadnavis and Seema Fadnavis praised Janhvi for her success. School Headmistress Maya Bamanote, Deputy Headmistress Subodh Ashtikar, Supervisor Bobde also praised Janhvi who gives credit of her success to all these dignitaries.
