FIVE-YEAR-OLD Ananya Mathankar brought laurels to the city by winning a gold medal at the 1st JKS South Asia Karate Championship that was held in New Delhi the other day. In a one-sided final, Ananya blanked her opponent from Nepal 9-0 to pocket the gold medal. A student of Seventh Day Adventist High School, Nagpur, Ananya gives the credit of her success to coach Shian Sanjay Ingole, Sainpai Vedant Sable, parents, brother and grandparents.
