A Clash erupted between Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers during a live telecast of a debate organised by a TV channel at Bhawartal Park on Saturday night. The incident, in which a BJP worker sustained injuries on the head, occurred following heated exchanges between workers of both the parties. BJP MLA Ashibhal Pandey and former Congress MLA Vinay Saxena were the main guests of the live debate. As per the information received, the argument escalated rapidly after a controversial question posed on the guests which provoked intense arguments between workers of both the parties. Verbal spat turned physical as workers from the Congress and BJP exchanged blows, hurled plastic chairs and resorted to vulgar language.

Despite efforts by senior party leaders to calm down the situation, the violence persisted, prompting the TV channel to abruptly halt the live broadcast. Former Congress MLA Vinay Saxena when contacted claimed that BJP workers instigated the row by initiating the argument and assaulting Congress workers. He said that a BJP worker slipped and sustained injuries while attempting to remove an iron pole and reportedly sustain injury as the ground of park was wet.
However, BJP workers alleged that Congress members initiated the brawl by attacking them, resulting in injuries to Ramji Singh, a BJP supporter, who was immediately hospitalised for treatment. Neither party has lodged a formal complaint with the police regarding the altercation till the report was filed.
