With the Model Code of Conduct imposed in view of Lok Sabha elections, a series of development works are lined up to be inaugurated for the general public. Inauguration of the development works includes commercial run of Metro, Sarv-Dharm Bridge, Ganesh Mandir to Gayatri Mandir flyover, Kolar Six-lane and a few other project in final stages. State capital Bhopal is set to witness big development works for the public after the Lok Sabha election result in June or July. Bog projects like Metro, Kolar Six-lane, GG flyover, Sarv-Dharm Bridge, Aishbaag RoB works are in final stages. Officials said that these work are all set to be dedicated to the public after the Model Code of Conduct is lifted. In order to ease the traffic congestion in Kolar area, Sarv-Dharm bridge is ready to serve the people with cost of Rs 5 crores. Around five lakh population would be benefitted with this 13 meter broad and 60 meter long bridge. However, official inauguration of the bridge is yet to be done, vehicles have started commuting n the bridge. An approach road is being constructed to make the traffic flow smooth around the bridge.
 
Besides, foot over bridge is being constructed with cost of Rs 10 crore at Aishbaag gate. The FoB will be facilitating around one lakh people. Earlier, it was targeted to start the RoB for public commutation by April or May but after Model Code of Conduct was imposed, inauguration is postponed. Construction work of flyover from Ganesh Mandir to Gayatri Mandir (GG Flyover) has been done and the approach road is also constructed. The fly over is going through load testing and trial run for the final inauguration. Officials said that once, Model Code of Conduct gets lifted, GG Flyover would be inaugurated immediately. Last year in October, a trial run of Metro train was done from Subhash Nagar depot to AIIMS on six kilo meter priority route. It was targeted to start commercial run of metro train in May or June. However the train’s commercial run is postponed for July or August in view of Lok Sabha elections. Metro stations at AIIMS, Alkapuri and DRM office is completed. Steel bridge is also being constructed near DRM office and railway track.
 
Though the foundation stone for all these development projects were already laid and most of the projects were in their final stage and in the meantime, Model Code of Conduct was imposed that made the works in a standstill. Prem Shankar Shukla, PRO BMC said, “As model code of conduct has been imposed, we cannot initiate to start the new project or inaugurate the development work that is done. For all kinds of foundation stones, inaugurations, releases we have to wait till vote counting.” The 15 kilometre Kolar six-lane work began in October 2022 from Kolar Rest House to Gol Jod. Officials said that both lanes from Gol Jod to D-Mart is constructed and 90 per cent work till Chuna Bhatti area is done. Officials said that the construction work is almost ready but it would not be inaugurated for next few months.
