“CONGRESS party has prepared its manifesto after a lot of thinking and taking opinion of the people. Congress’ manifesto is thus the voice of the common people. If voted to power, we will waive off the loan for the farmers,” declared Rahul Gandhi, MP and Senior Congress leader while addressing the huge gathering at Karanjekar Ground in Sakoli, on Saturday. MPCC President Nana Patole, Leader of Congress in Assembly Balasahab Thorat, Leader of Opposition MLA Vijay Wadettiwar, NCP (Sharad Pawar) State President Jayant Patil, AICC Secretary Ashish Dua, Satish Chaturvedi, ex-MP Dr Khushal Bopche, Madhukar Kukade, candidates Dr Prashant Padole (Bhandara-Gondia), Dr Namdeo Kirsan (Gadchiroli-Chimur), Vikas Thakre (Nagpur), Pratiba Dhanorkar (Chandrapur), State Vice President Nana Gawande, Minority Cell’s Wajahat Mirza, MLA Sahasram Korote, MLC Adv Abhijit Wanjari, Congress District President Mohan Panchbhai (Bhandara), Dilip Bansod (Gondia) and other leaders were present on the dais.
 
Rahul Gandhi also declared to fill 30 lakh vacancies in government services, scrap ‘Agniveer’ scheme and give benefit of Rs 1 lakh annually to women from poor families, if I.N.D.I. Alliance is voted to power. Therefore, people should vote for the candidates of the alliance, he appealed. “The people of SC, ST and OBC had very less representation in the Government in proportion to their numbers. They should get representation in accordance to their population and hence Congress party is demanding caste-based census which will bring the reality to the fore,” Rahul Gandhi said. “This Modi-led Government is not working for the people but is working for a few select corporate houses and is the government of Adani in reality. Today, there are 22 billionaires holds the wealth in country which is equal to the wealth of 70 crore Indians. Modi should tell what he has done for the poor and under-privileged people in his ten years tenure,” Gandhi questioned adding that, the Prime Minister just speaks of Hindu -Muslim unity but creates rift among them.
 
Addressing the rally Leader of Congress party in State Assembly Balasahab Thorat said that people of India have always stood by the Congress party whenever Constitution and democracy were in danger. MPCC President Nana Patole assured justice for all the sections of the society. Criticizing the BJP leaders, Vijay Wadettiwar said that the cylinder of Rs 400 that they found so costly is now of Rs 1,100. Electricity is also gone dearer by 10 per cent. Jayant Patilsaid that during 2014 -23 about 1 lakh farmers committed suicide. Modi Government had duped the farmers in the name of Re 1 crop insurance, he alleged. Earlier Mohan Panchbhai delivered introductory speech and also proposed a vote of thanks. People from all walks of life attended the rally.
