THE day-long stinging heat warning of blistering hot conditions in coming days was eclipsed with sudden showers for some respite during the evening hours in Raipur on Monday. Gusty winds accompanied with deafening lightening and sudden showers brought much needed respite from the scorching conditions in the capital city. Raipur received 2.5 mm rainfall in the short spell while Mana Airport areas specifically recorded 7.6mm rainfall. On the other hand, the conditions remained dry with no rainfall activities recorded across the state. Though the rain dominated last four-days brought down the maximum temperature by around 8 degrees across the state, the bright sunshine on Monday was surprise for all who enjoyed every moment of the cool conditions. The highest minimum temperature of 41.0 degree Celsius was recorded during the day at Automated Rain Gauge, Dongargarh.

Bilaspur recorded the second highest temperature of 39.8 degrees followed by aorund 38 degree Celsius at Raipur, Jagdalpur and Rajnandgaon respectively. Surprisingly, Automated Weather Station of Narayanpur was the coolest across the state recording lowest minimum temperature of 19- 4 degrees. With no system persists presently, the bright skyline will make the conditions favourable to enhance the heating conditions across the state. Weatherman has stated that there will be rise in temperature by 2/3 degrees during next three days in most parts of the state. The condition is expected to remain dry across the state from April 16 to 19. Sky will be partly cloudy with maximum and minimum temperature likely at 38.0 degrees and 22.0 degrees respectively in Raipur on April 16.
