A truck driver was killed and thirteen school student on-board an MSRTC bus sustained minor injuries when a speeding truck collided head-on with the bus on Chouda Mile to Mangrul village road under the jurisdiction of Kalmeshwar Police Station. According to police, the accident occurred on April 15, between 12.30 pm. The MSRTC bus (MH-40/N-9541), was en route from Ghat Road Depot in Nagpur, driven by Nilesh Bhimrao Alne and carrying 40 to 45 students. The bus had departed from Kalmeshwar towards Mangrul and dropping off and picking up students along the way. The bus collided head-on with an Eicher truck (MH-04/FP-6124), driven by Mahesh Ramesh Nalge. The impact resulted in serious injuries to both drivers and damage to both vehicles, with the front part of the bus and the Eicher truck being badly crushed.
 
Both injured drivers were rushed to Government Medical College and Hospital (GMC&H) for treatment. The driver of the Eicher truck succumbed to his injuries during treatment, while the bus driver is under observation. Minorly injured students were taken to the nearest health center. The injured students have been identified as Lisha Jitendra Dongre (13), Vaishnavi Shrikrishna Sonwane (13), Khadan Chichbhavan, Nimji; Manvi Kailas Nikhade (12), Nimji Taluka Kalameshwar, Minal Kapte, Durgesh Dharammali, Mansi Thakre, Priyanka Belsare, Harshal Nehare, Umesh Thakre, Prathamesh Uike, Harshal Thakre, Manvi Kailas Nikhade.
