Former Chief Minister and Congress candidate from Rajnandgaon Lok Sabha seat Bhupesh Baghel has clarified his previous statement of fake encounter on the killing of 29 Naxalites by security forces, saying that his statement was misquoted. The former Chief Minister termed the killing of 29 Naxalites as a big success of the security forces and congratulated the soldiers for it.

 

Former Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that his statement given regarding the earlier Naxal incident has been linked to the current incident. It is very unfortunate that BJP people are politicising his previous statement, he added. Baghel said, “I had talked about fake encounter regarding an earlier incident, in which allegations were made on behalf of the villagers. Now, 29 Naxalites have been killed by the security forces, this is a big success. I congratulate security forces for this success.”
