Nagpur, Ramtek Lok Sabha election campaign guns went silent on Wednesday. For the last 17 days, candidates and their supporters including party members, were busy in holding elections rallies, yatras and meetings at various places in their respective constituencies. Bharatiya Janata Party’s candidate for Nagpur Lok Sabha Nitin Gadkari and Congress candidate Vikas Thakre both addressed their respective public rallies on the last day of the campaigning. Similarly, candidates of Ramtek --Raju Parve of Shiv Sena (Shinde), Shyamkumar Barve (Congress) and Kishor Gajbhiye (Independent) also addressed poll rallies till 5.30 pm. Both the constituencies will be going to polls on April 19.
 
Gadkari delivered his speech live on social media at 10 am. He briefed his ideas, his vision for the development of Nagpur city for next 10 years during his live talk. He graced the Shri Ram Shobhayatra at Shree Poddareshwar Ram Mandir. He also visited Shree Ram Shobhayatra taken out by Paschim Nagpur Nagrik Mandal from Ram Nagar, Ram Mandir. He also addressed a meeting at Bada Taja Bagh. Similarly, Vikas Thakre, too, graced the pujan and participated in the religious ceremonies at Shree Poddareshwar Ram Mandir, and also at Ram Nagar Ram Mandir. Chief Minister Eknath Shinde addressed public rallies for Raju Parve, Shiv Sena (Shinde) candidate of Ramtek Lok Sabha at Umred, Hingna. His addresses pumped enthusiasm not only his party members but in the people during the rallies.
 
The Congress had decided not to rope in any star campaigner on the last day and instead preferred to take out traditional rallies. Other candidates including Bahujan Samaj Party candidate Yogesh Lanjewar in Nagpur, Sandip Meshram in Ramtek reached out to their traditional voters by way of padyatra, small meetings. Kishor Gajbhiye, an Independent candidate backed by Vanchit Bahujan Aaghadi too taken out padyatra and addressed public meetings as a part of his campaign on last day. As usual on the eve of voting, several social and community based organisations have declared their support to prominent candidates. Due to Ram Navmi city faced traffic congestion, both the candidates avoided grand road show or grand rally.
