IT’S a dream of every player to represent his or her country and win medals at international level. To fulfil that dream, a strong foundation is needed along with proper training. To help talented players achieve their goals, Sports Ministry has started Khelo India Rising Talent Identification (KIRTI) programme all over the country. KIRTI, will also be implemented in Vidarbha in collaboration with Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU). Through KIRTI, talented players from grassroot level will be scouted and trained. The training will be imparted to talented players which will make them capable of giving their best at the international level. Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj Nagpur University (RTMNU) is one of institutions which will train sportspersons in five disciplines namely football, volleyball, kabaddi, kho-kho and athletics.
 
Director of Sports, RTMNU Dr Sharad Suryawanshi informed that players between the age of 9 and 18 years from Nagpur as well as other districts of Vidarbha will be able to participate in these five games. Selection for boys and girls will be conducted at RTMNU ground at Ravi Nagar, Amravati Road from April 23. Interested players will have to report at the ground at 5:30 am for the skill test and selection trials. For this initiative an organising committee has been formed under the guidance of former Director Dr Dhananjay Welurkar. Dr Aditya Soni, Dr Sanjay Chaudhary, Dr Manoj Ambadkar, Dr Vibekanand Singh, Dr Nitin Jangitwar, Dr Amit Tebhurne, Dr Sudhir Sahare, Sayali Waghmare, Archana Kottewar, Ramchandra Wani, Nitin Dhabekar.
