The discovery of two deceased employees of Ashoka Biryani centre in a gutter within the premises stirred up sensation and panic in the area on Thursday. Questions abound regarding the circumstances of their deaths -whether foul play was involved or if they succumbed to poisonous gas while cleaning the gutters. The deceased individuals, identified as David Sahu and Neelkumar Patel, were electricians at Ashoka Biryani. Initial reports suggest that David and Neelkumar, both electricians at Ashoka Biryani, were tasked with cleaning the gutter, a job seemingly unrelated to their usual duties. This has prompted inquiries into why the hotel’s operators assigned electricians to undertake such a task, especially without adequate safety precautions. Authorities are investigating whether the employees may have been exposed to toxic gases in the gutter, leading to their deaths due to suffocation. The police have sent the bodies for postmortem examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Meanwhile, there have been reports of Ashoka Biryani Manager Rubina and some staffers assaulting Vistaar TV cameraman Ravi Niri, who had gone there for the coverage of the incident. This altercation resulted in injuries to Niri, as well as damage to his camera equipment. Additionally, it’s been alleged that the entire staff of the Biryani center attacked media personnel covering the incident. Ashoka Biryani Manager Rubina and her staffers were detained by Telibandha Police. As the investigation unfolds, the focus remains on understanding the circumstances that led to the tragic deaths of David Sahu and Neelkumar Patel, and whether there was negligence or foul play involved. The PM report is expected to provide crucial insights into the matter, shedding light on this unfortunate incident. Additional Superintendent of Police (ASP) Crime Lakhan Patle stated their entire investigation is currently focused on establishing the cause of deaths. Violation of safety norms or health related rules are in the domain of other agencies such as Raipur Municipal Corporation (RMC).
