The Congress party has outlined five Nyay (justice) assurances for the nation ahead of Lok Sabha elections. Addressing a press conference at the State Congress office, Rajiv Bhawan, State Congress President Deepak Baij emphasised that under a Congress-led Government, women would receive an annual assistance of Rs 1 lakh. Contrasting with the BJP’s provision of Rs 1,000 monthly to women in Chhattisgarh, the Congress pledged to offer Rs 8,333 per month. Moreover, Baij asserted that MGNREGA workers would be entitled to a minimum wage of Rs 400, with the promise of legal status for MSP.

The Congress envisions safeguarding the rights of women, youth, farmers, and laborers, aiming to integrate them into the development mainstream, he added . Baij reiterated the party’s commitment to deliver justice for farmers, youth, women, laborers, and equitable treatment, setting the tone for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Baij projected the creation of 30 lakh new jobs nationwide under a Congress administration. The party proposed providing Rs 1 lakh (equivalent to Rs 8,500 per month) to each educated youth through a year-long apprenticeship, along with the formulation of a robust policy to prevent paper leaks and enhance working conditions for youth in the gig economy.

Furthermore, the Congress vowed to allocate Rs 5000 crore towards the Yuva Roshani start-up fund for the youth. The conference was attended by State Congress In-charge General Secretary Malkit Singh Gaindu, State Congress Media Chief Sushil Anand Shukla, Chairman of the War Room of Chhattisgarh Pradesh Congress Committee Shailesh Nitin Trivedi, as well as Senior State Congress Spokespersons Dhananjay Singh Thakur, Ghanshyam Raju Tiwari, and Surendra Verma, among others.
