Citizens in Madhya Pradesh are facing harsher days with temperature soaring above 40 degrees Celsius in 20 cities. Weather Department said that temperature is expected to remain above normal mark and dry till April 20. From April 21, another phase of rain and storm is likely to begin for three days. Indian Meteorology Department (IMD), Bhopal, stated that western disturbance is becoming active from April 20 and this would be affecting the weather condition of Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Ujjain. Narmadapuram remained the hottest city with highest minimum temperature. Gwalior and Rewa recorded day temperature above normal mark. There were no major changes in minimum temperature. Indore and Ujjain recorded minimum temperature above normal mark and Narmadapuram recorded minimum temperature above normal mark.
 
Five cities that recorded lowest minimum temperature were Shahdol (18.7 degrees Celsius), Malajkhand (18.8 degrees Celsius), Mandla (19.0 degrees Celsius), Pachmarhi (19.4 degrees Celsius) and Rewa (19.6 degrees Celsius). Five cities that recorded highest minimum temperature were Narmadapuram (28.3 degrees Celsius), Kannod (27.5 degrees Celsius), Bairunda (27.1 degrees Celsius), Dhar (26.0 degrees Celsius), Prithvipur ARG/ Shivpuri (25.9 degrees Celsius).Highest day temperature was recorded in Badwani 42.9 degrees Celsius, Khandwa 42.1 degrees Celsius, Bijawar (Chhatarpur) 41.5 degrees Celsius, Dhar 41.4 degrees Celsius and Rajgarh/ Shivpuri/Guna 41.2 degrees Celsius.
 
According to IMD, people in Sagar, Mauganj, Balaghat, Betul, Morena, Shivpuri, Narmadapuram and Sidhi are likely to face low discomfort for two days. On April 20, Bhopal is likely to record maximum temperature as 40 degrees Celsius and minimum 24 degrees Celsius. On Friday, maximum temperature in Bhopal was recorded as 39.7 degrees Celsius and minimum 24.8 degrees Celsius. Gwalior recorded maximum temperature 40.1 degrees Celsius and minimum 24.0 degrees Celsius. Indore recorded maximum temperature 40.2 degrees Celsius and minimum 25.2 degrees Celsius. Ujjain recorded maximum temperature as 40.5 degrees Celsius and minimum 24.0 degrees Celsius.
