In the first phase of Lok Sabha Elections 2024 held on six Parliamentary constituencies of the State, voter turn out of 66 per cent was reported till 5 pm on Friday. Overall the voting was peaceful in all the six constituencies. Remarkably, Chhindwara registered highest voting percentage as compared to last elections while Sidhi recorded lowest with 51.24%. At Shahdol 59.91% voting was reported, Jabalpur recorded 56.74%, Mandla 68.31%, Balaghat 71.08% and Chhindwara 73.85% polling was recorded. Under the first phase, elections were held in Six Parliamentary constituencies including Sidhi, Shahdol (ST), Jabalpur, Mandla (ST), Balaghat and Chhindwara. Talking about the reports of clashes between Congress and BJP supporters at Chhindwara, Chief Electoral Officer Anupam Rajan said that there were squabbles and very shortly situation was brought under control.
 
Earlier, polling commenced at 7 am and concluded at 6 pm on Friday. Top three legislative Assemblies were voters showed enthusiasm to exercise their franchise are Amarwada 83.02%, Junnardev 81.22% and Chaurai 79.9%. On other hand, at Churhat reported 49.41%, Sidhi 49.57% and Sinhawal- 51.34 % these are the assemblies with lowest voter turnout. Informing about Naxal.-affect areas, the voting percentage showed an upward trend at Baihar-75.54%, Lanji- 72.70% and Paraswada- 63.64% turnout.
