ALL India Reporter and Reshimbagh Gymkhana secured vital first innings lead on second day in their respective three-day semi-finals of Dorairajan Trophy on Sunday. At VCA’s Kalamna Ground, Indian Gymkhana, starting the day at 11 for no loss chasing AIR’s 392, were shot out for 250 all out in 54.4 overs conceding a huge 142-run lead. Kushal Pimpalkar scored exactly 50 while Tushar Suryavanshi (45) and Aahan Joshi (34) were the other contributors. For AIR, Kaustubh Salve (3-87) and Pushpak Gujar (3-53) took three wickets each. Indian Gymkhana fought back in AIR’s second innings with Parth Rekhade (3-66) and Gaurav Dhoble (3-30) reducing the opponents to 111-6 in 28 overs. By end of the day, All India Reporter were leading by 252 runs.
 
5-Star Khilote gives team leAd In the second semi-final under way at SB City College Ground, Reshimbagh Gymkhana’s left-arm spinner Aditya Khilote (5-58) took a fifer to derail Ministerial Services Sports Club and give the team a first innings lead. Reshimbagh had just 222 to defend and the bowlers led by Khilote bundled out the rivals for 193 in 54.5 overs. Reshimbagh took a 27-run vital lead. MSSC, who had a great opening day with ball and bat, disappointed on Day Two. The team started at 62 without loss but lost wickets in a heap to be shot out in about one session. As many as three batters — Mandar Mahale (48), Vedant Jajoo (44) and Yash Rathod (47) got good starts but failed to encash the opportunity. Khilote was ably supported by Rahul Dongarwar who chipped in with three wickets for 57 runs. In their second essay, Reshimbagh Gymkhana were 55-1 in 19 overs stretching the overall lead to 84 runs.
