During the day, scorching heat bothered people while at night the temperature remained above normal mark in the State capital on Sunday. During evening hours, Bhopal recorded scattered rainfall for half an hour that brought relief to citizens. Khargone, Maheshwar, Khandwa, Omkareshwar, Narmadapuram and a few other cities recorded storm for 50 kmph. Betul Badwani, Sehore, Harda, Betul, Burhanpur, Raisen, Pachmarhi and Narsinghpur saw power outage after storm and light rain. Indian Meteorology Department, Bhopal said that respite from heat in the form of scattered showers are expected on Monday.
 
Weather scientists said that for next ten days, weather will remain hotter. They said by the end of April the day tempertaure will soar above 40 degrees Celsius. IMD said, western disturbance has started affecting the weather conditions of Madhya Pradesh with partial cloud cover in sky. On Monday, rain is forecast for Narmadapuram, Betul, Narsinghpur, Seoni, Mandla, Balaghat, Dindori and Anupur districts. For April 23, rain is likely to be witnessed in Seoni, Mandla and Balaghat. Maximum temperature in Bhopal was recorded as 38.9 degrees Celsius and minimum 22.6 degrees Celsius. Gwalior recorded maximum temperature 39.4 degrees Celsius and minimum 24 degrees Celsius. Indore recorded maximum temperature 38.4 degrees Celsius and minimum 24.4 degrees Celsius. Ujjain recorded maximum temperature as 38.2 degrees Celsius and minimum 20.8 degrees Celsius. Khandwa and Khargone recorded day temperature 42.8 degrees Celsius, highest in State. 20 cities in State recorded day temperature above 40 degrees Celsius.
