Final result for classes V and VIII have been released by Rajya Shiksha Kendra (RSK) Madhya Pradesh on Tuesday. Passing percentage of class V board pattern exam remained as 90.97% and class VIII passing percent remained as 87.71%. Ironically, top five cities of Madhya Pradesh including Bhopal, Indore, Jabalpur, Gwalior and Ujjain could not make it to the list of top ten performer districts. Overall passing percent of class V remained as 90.97% including 91.53% for the Government schools and 90.18% for private schools. In the same way, class VIII overall passing percent remained as 87.71% including 86.22% result of Government schools and 90.60 % result from private schools. Students from Madarsa also participated the exam and passing percent remained as 73.26%. During a media briefing, RSK Director Dhanraju S made the result public at 12:30 with one click. He said over 1.23 million children participated in the 5th grade examination of which 48.3% were girls and 51.7% were boys. He said, this year students from rural areas outperformed urban students. If we compare the performance of rural and urban areas schools, the performance of rural schools in class V and VIII has been better than that of urban schools. In class V, rural schools have passing percentage as 92.60% while that of urban schools remained as 86.19%. Similarly, in class VIII, 88.35% children from rural schools passed the exam successfully while that of urban schools stood at only 86.04%. He further informed that to access their scorecards, candidates need to mention their registration or roll number and password in their result portal. They can also visit RSK website to view the scorecard. Marksheets were made accessible online from 12:30 pm on April 23. Director Dhanraju S informed that r-exam will be conducted in the last week of May and concluded in the first week of June.
 
He said, If any child fails in annual exam, he or she will be given extra class and granted opportunity for re-examination within two months from the date of declaration of result. If the child fails in the re-examination, he or she shall be detained in the same class. RSK officials said that if any student wish to apply for the re-totalling, he will be charged Rs 25 per subject. This year, evaluation work of copies got delayed in five districts including Bhopal due to which result could not be declared on said date. Earlier, RSK said to release the result on April 1. The exam was held at 1986 centres across the state. Board pattern exam for class V and VIII was back in MP during year 2019. Government said that no child shall be expelled from school till the completion of elementary education in school. Best performer districts in class V category were Narsinghpur, Anuppur, Dindori, Mandla, Chhindwara, Alirajpur, Jhabua, Sehore, Shahdol and Burhanpur. Top performers districts in class VIII remained as Chhindwara, Narsinghpur, Alirajpur, Sehore, Burhanpur, Anuppur, Barwani, Dindori and Jhabua. There were around 24 lakh students including 12 lakh from class V and 11 lakh from class VIII of Government and Private schools affiliated to MP Board of Secondary Education (MPBSE) appeared in the exam. Class V exams were held from March 6 to 13 and class VIII exams were held from March 6 to 14.
 
For class V, there were 9,20,123 students appeared from rural area and out of this, 8,52,055 passed the exam successfully. There were 3,13,565 students appeared from urban areas and 2,70,265 passed the exam. Similarly in class VIII, there were 8,19,232 students appeared from rural areas and out of this 7,23,828 successfully clear the exam. There were 3,18,155 students from urban areas and only 2,73,725 clear the exam. Passing percent of students from rural areas in class V remained as 92.60% and urban areas 86.19%. For class VIII, passing percent of rural areas remained as 88.35% and urban areas 86.04%. According to RSK, there were 6,35,512 boys appeared for class V exam and out of this 5,69,518 passed the exam. There were 5,98,176 girls appeared in class V exam and 5,52,802 passed the exam. In same way, for class VIII, there were 5,83,160 boys and 5,54,227 girls appeared in the exam and out of this, 5,01,169 boys and 4,96,384 girls passed the exam. Passing percentage for boys in class V remained as 89.62% and girls 92.41%. For class VIII, passing percent of boys remained as 85.94% and girls 89.56%. It may be mentioned that in order to improve the performance of students various provision were made in Government schools. In Bhopal, special remedial classes were conducted during holidays. Even in winter vacation, special classes were given to the weak students. Officials had asked principals to identify the weak and strong students in each class and subject to guide them separately. Students weak in subjects were offered special classes. They were also given assignment to do at home for better understanding of chapters.
