AFTER a lot of hue and cry, Hudkeshwar Police succeeded in cracking the mystery behind the death of 55-year-old property dealer Ravindra Pandit Kudwe by registering a case of murder against a young girl with whom he allegedly had an extra-marital affair. Cops booked Kajal Ashok Joge (27), a resident of Sai Nagar No 2, Hudkeshwar Road, in this connection. A resident of Plot No 37, Vyas Nagar, Kudwe left home on a moped around 1 pm on April 19. He was found lying in an unconscious state on Uday Nagar Road. A friend of Kudwe’s son rushed him to Government Medical College & Hospital where the doctors declared him ‘brought dead.’

Hudkeshwar Police had registered an accidental death case under Section 174 of the Code of Criminal Procedure and initiated a probe into the incident. The autopsy report revealed that Kudwe died of ‘shock due to testicular injuries.’
Commissioner of Police Dr Ravinder Singal intervened and directed Hudkeshwar Police to register a case of murder as initial probe and circumstantial evidence revealed that it was a homicide. Further investigation took an altogether new turn when Kudwe’s son Hitesh (27) told police that his father had an affair with Kajal Joge for the past 5-6 years but now she wanted to marry another man. Kajal often used to demand money from Kudwe for her marriage and fought with him.

On April 19, she again fought with Kudwe following the dispute over marriage expenses in a flat at Aakash Nagar. After a scuffle between them, she allegedly gave a forceful blow to his testicles with some object resulting in his death. Following a complaint lodged by Hitesh, police registered a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code against Kajal. Meanwhile, police sources said that possibility of involvement of some more person(s) in the murder case could not be ruled out.
