A truck carrying firecrackers was completely gutted in a fire mishap. The incident occurred at about 12 noon on Wednesday and it occurred between village Borai and Nagpura in Durg rural. A major mishap was averted as the firecracker godown was situated few meters away from the spot and fortunately no one was hurt in the mishap. What exactly caused the fire remained unknown. Sources informed that on Wednesday, the State Disaster Response Force received information regarding the fire in a truck laden with firecrackers which was heading towards Sathi Fire Works. Two teams from the Fire Department and Disaster Management was then immediately rushed to the spot.

 

With the help of two fire tenders, the personnel from State Disaster Response Force finally doused the fire, but till then the truck was completely gutted. The fire from the truck had also started spreading in the fields but the fire tenders doused it. The godown of Sathi fireworks was situated about 400 meters away from the spot and the fire tenders which were pressed into service prevented the fire from spreading towards it. No loss to life was reported, but the truck was completed gutted in the mishap. The reason behind the fire also remained unknown. Under the supervision of District Commandant Nagendra Kumar Singh, Shift In-charge Dalaram, Bhagwati Banjare and fire fighters Mukhtar Ali, Ramnath Kurre, Dharmendra, Shailendra, Jagendra and Nitin Umashankar doused the fire.
