Upbeat ruling Bharatiya Janata Party have gotten off the blocks swiftly and have already shifted their focus towards campaigning, with prominent leaders strategising at the grassroots level to secure victory for their respective parties and set a target of induction of lakhs of new members from rival Congress party. Recently, political circles have witnessed the defection of big leaders of Congress to the BJP. Congress is seeing the exodus at district, tehsil, block and booth levels across the State. It will continue. Now, its workers in lakhs of numbers going to take BJP’s membership, as per State BJP’s statement.
 
Expressing party’s ambitious plan, State BJP President V D Sharma claimed to registered a historic achievement on April 6. He stated that at least one lakh workers of Congress across the State are going to cross over to the BJP. ‘Modi Ka Parivar’ is growing at the fastest pace in Madhya Pradesh, Sharma said. Earlier, he had said “I think around 50,000 workers, including influential leaders unhappy with Congress, have already joined the BJP”. Sharma, seeking a second term in Lok Sabha from Khajuraho seat. Last month several Congress leaders from Chhindwara including sitting MLA, Mayor and tribal leader Vikram Ahake and municipal corporation Chairperson Pramod Sharma joined the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) .
 
Leaders from Malwa region e.g. former Congress MLA Antar Singh Darbar and his colleague from Indore, Pankaj Sanghvi and Sanjay Shukla others joined the BJP. While Congress could convince only a few BJP leaders e.g. Former Madhya Pradesh MLA and ex-BJP leader Laxman Tiwari who joined the Congress in Bhopal on Monday, hours after the opposition party saw another high-profile exit from its ranks in Chhindwara, the home district of former CM Kamal Nath.
