Gurudas Raut, former Indian disabled cricket team captain, has been nominated as SVEEP ICON (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation Programmes) of Nagpur District for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. The nomination was done by Dr Vipin Itankar Collector and District Election Officer, the other day. Raut is also a Disabled World Cup winner and Brand Ambassador of Nagpur Municipal Sanitation Mission.

 

“It is a matter of pride for the entire city of Nagpur, for all disabled sportsmen in India and also for the Vidarbha Divyang Cricket Association that Raut has been nominated for the initiative,” stated Sanjay Bhoskar, President, Vidarbha Divyang Cricket Association. Gurudas was also Brand Ambassador of Nagpur Municipal Corporation’s Swachh Bharat Mission 2022-23, 2023-24. Raut is at present posted at Indian Air Force, Maintenance Command, Nagpur.
