“In 2019, Shiv Sena (United) had an alliance with Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). But, voters’ trust was breached and Sena went with Congress and Nationalist Congress Party (United). Voters voted us so that Sena-BJP alliance could be formed. We should have formed the Government. It did not happen. We separated from our group and formed Mahayuti with BJP to restore voters’ confidence,” explained Chief Minister Eknath Shinde. He was addressing a gathering of Shiv Sena workers at Dr Vasantrao Deshpande Hall on Sunday. Eknath Shinde said that he rebelled against the then party chief as the ideology of Shiv Sena Pramukh Balasaheb Thackeray was compromised. Thackeray had never preferred to join hands with Congress over BJP.

“I did not want to become the Chief Minister but I had no choice but to rebel because I could not tolerate damage being done to Balasaheb Thackeray’s ideology,” asserted Shinde. Appealing to the people to vote for the ruling alliance in order to make Narendra Modi Prime Minister for the third time in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, Shinde said, “Opposition Maha Vikas Aghadi does not have any agenda nor any plan for development. We all know what has happened to INDI alliance. Mentioning name of Krupal Tumane, the sitting MP of Ramtek, Shinde patted the back of former. He pointed out, “Once in municipal polls which we fought under the leadership of Anand Dighe, I had sacrificed and did not contest the poll. I had told Dighe that Party was important, not the person. Today, Tumane too has taken the same stand.

I congratulate him for his magnanimous approach. He will get his gift. We will rehabilitate him. There are some equations, there is elective merit. In Ramtek, we too had to take some decisions. I am proud of Tumane as he told me that he would stand with Raju Parve in this election fully,” added Shinde. Ramtek MP Krupal Tumane, MLA Ashish Jaiswal, former Minister Dr Deepak Savant, Vidarbha Organiser of Shiv Sena Kiran Pandav, Nagpur Organiser Mangesh Kashikar, Lok Sabha candidate of the party for Ramtek Raju Parve, Suraj Goje, Sandip Itkelwar and others were seated on the dais.
