TIE MATCHES are not very common in day games but Eleven Star Cricket Club and Ruby Colts were engaged in one such game in the fourth round of Dorairajan Trophy at SB City College Ground on Monday. In the three-day two-innings match, Eleven Star made 212 and 143 while Ruby, who took a comfortable lead scoring 281 in their first essay, were shot out for a meagre 74 in the second attempt for a thrilling tie. Needing just 75 for an outright victory, Ruby batters failed as Dipak Jangid (4-39) and Manish Patel (3-1) ran through them. Reshimbagh Gymkhana drubbed Navniketan Cricket Club by an innings and 12 runs with left-arm spinner Aaditya Khilote taking four wickets in each innings. Indian Gymkhana defeated Anurag Cricket Club, Kamptee by an innings and 194 runs. Gaurav Dhoble was the star performer returning with fine figures of 6-57 and 5-42. Medical Representatives’ Cricket Club thrashed VMV by an innings and 162 runs with offie Ganesh Bhosale taking fifer in both the innings. Ministerial Services Sports Club thumped Advocate XI by 219 runs while All India Reporter pipped Lipton Cricket Club by 3 wickets.
