ACCOUNTANT General Recreation Club (AGRC) demolished Central Railway Recreation Club by nine wickets to win the Guzder League Inter-Institution T20 Cricket Tournament 2023-24 which concluded at the Yerla Ground on Tuesday. In the final, the Central Railway team, led by Amit Paunikar, couldn’t capitalise after winning the toss and electing to bat first. AGRC pacers Rajneesh Gurbani and Lalit Yadav not only maintained a good line and length but also picked up a couple of wickets each.

And with Vidarbha’s Ranji Trophy captain Akshay Wadkar also choosing to roll his arms over and picking up two wickets, the Railway innings lacked momentum. They ended up with 129/9 on the board, thanks to a 30-ball 46 by skipper Paunikar, who shared a 54-run stand with Sanjog Binkar (22) for the third wicket. AGRC lost opener Dharmendra Ahlawat early in the chase, but Akshay Kolhar 66 (43b, 4x9, 6x1) and R Sanjay 59 (34b, 4x8, 6x1) encountered no difficulty whatsoever and saw their team home with 6.4 overs to spare. The tournament was organised by Vidarbha Cricket Association.
