IN A heart-wrenching incident, a young woman throttled her three-year-old daughter to death after a tiff with her live-in partner under a tree on the roadside at Amar Nagar near Electric Zone Square on Monday evening. According to Police, Twinkle Raut (23), a resident of S K Paper Products Company, S-44, MIDC Industrial Area, near Nildoh, Hingna Road, strongly pressed the chest and neck of daughter Riyanshi, throttling her to death. Natives of Tumsar, Twinkle and her husband Rama Laxman Raut (24) shifted to Nagpur four years ago to earn livelihood. They worked at S K Paper Products in MIDC and stayed in a room in company premises. Often, the couple doubted each other leading to frequent quarrels between them.

 

An argument broke out between Twinkle and Rama around 4 pm. Their daughter Riyanshi started crying. After heated exchanges between the couple, Twinkle took Riyanshi under a tree and throttled her to death in a fit of rage. Riyanshi was rushed to Lata Mangeshkar Hospital where the doctors declared her dead. After recording Rama’s statement, MIDC Police registered a case under Section 302 of the Indian Penal Code against Twinkle and took her into custody after she surrendered.
