A PROPERTY dealer was killed, and his two friends were seriously injured when a speeding Mahindra Scorpio rear-ended their motorcycle on Pipla Road, within the jurisdiction of the Hudkeshwar Police Station, in the early hours of Sunday morning. The deceased has been identified as Shubham Sunil Ganer (30), a resident of New Subhedar Layout. Rajat Hiralal Bele (26) from Udaya Nagar and AtulVinayak Ramteke (31) from New Subhedar Layout, sustained injuries in the accident. The three had gone to a Dhaba on the Outer Ring Road for dinner. After dinner, they began their journey home on a two-wheeler.While passing through Pipla Road, a speeding Scorpio (MH-15/DC-9427) approached from behind and collided with their two-wheeler near Residency Lawn at 1.30 am.

 

The impact of the collision threw all three motorcyclists off the vehicle which resulted in critical injuries as they fell onto the cement road. Hudkeshwar Police transported the victims to a hospital. Shubham succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. Meanwhile, Rajat and Atul were admitted to a private hospital for further treatment. An investigation into the incident has been initiated, and a case has been filed against the driver under Sections 279, 338, 304 (a), and 427 of the Indian Penal Code.
