A man was arrested by Khaparkheda Police for killing his cousin amid accusation of an illicit relationship between the deceased’s wife and the accused. Khaparkheda Police arrested Narendra Vaman Sawarkar (35), a resident of Pipla Dak Bungalow, for the murder of his cousin, Jagannath Devaji Sawarkar (54). According to police, Jagannath was found unconscious in his farm on Saturday morning, discovered by his cousin, Narendra. He rushed him to Mayo Hospital where doctors declared him dead. Khaparkheda Police initiated an investigation.

Suspicion arose when Head Constable Amol Lohkare noticed marks on Jagannath’s neck. Despite initial speculation of suicide, the preliminary autopsy report revealed a chilling truth - Jagannath had been strangled to death. Further inquiry revealed allegations of an extramarital affair between Jagannath’s wife and Narendra, which ignited the motive behind the heinous act. As a result, the police interrogated Narendra and he finally spilled the beans. The police have registered a case under Section 302 and 201 of the Indian Penal Code against Narendra and arrested him.
