With citizens convenience taken for granted by authorities in city, the pending work on demolition of low height bridge at Ambazari overflow point was started from Wednesday without any prior notice. The heavy rush on the road for Ambazari T-point to Subhash Nagar T-point were left confused as the stretch was closed from morning leaving citizens to take a detour. Deputy Commissioner of Police, Traffic, Nagpur City Police, notified closure of road stretch on Wednesday itself for a period of one months as Public Works Department (PWD) is undertaking construction of replacement bridge as part of permanent measures to remove obstruction free flow of overflowing water from Ambazari lake.

 

While the work on construction of new bridge is no doubt important, but what about norms, wherein Traffic Control Branch issues notification about closure of road so that citizens are well informed. But it seems when it comes to the Government agencies, rules don’t matter or they are exempt from it. But these same agencies would not leave any stone unturned in hauling up a lay man in case their is some lapse or some rule is deviated.
