TOP seed Aarush Deshpande, unseeded Thea Desai and Nagpur lads Yuvaan Raipure-Swaraj Bhosale won on the final day of MSLTA NDHTA All India Ranking CS7 Tournament for Under-12 Boys and Girls which was completely action packed. The event was held on in NDHTA Ramnagar courts.
In the boys singles finals, Aarush had an easy first set but Kabir Borse came back strong in the second set to give some resistance. However Aarush prevailed with his brilliant at times drop shots to seal the top spot with the score 6-4, 6-4.
Thea was met with a fierce competition from city girl Insiyah Kamal in the girls singles final, the crowd present was entertained to some brilliant rallies and both forehand, backhand shots. Thea won the match 6-2, 6-4.
While in the boys doubles finals, Yuvaan-Swaraj were the stronger pair on the day. Their opponents Aarush Deshpande and Kabir Borse made some vital errors which cost them the match 4-1, 4-1. Secretary Dr Sudhir Bhiwpurkar and Treasurer Vijay Naidu gave away the trophies, certificates and daily allowance to the winners. Dr Biwapurkar noted that Nagpur players are coming in the finals in almost all categories.
Tournament supervisor Vishal Landge along with the ground team conducted the week-long tournament successfully. The AITA CS7 U-14 will commence in the last week of October and Lokmat Mahagames (U-14 and
U-17) will be held on November 12 and 13th informed Naidu.
