IT WAS an heart-break for Vidarbha boys as they went down to Gujarat in the Super Over during their Elite Group A league match of the Vinoo Mankad Trophy in Sehwag International School, Jhajjar, Haryana on Saturday. Gujarat won the toss but managed to post only a sub-par tally of 183 for 9 wickets in their 50 overs.

 

Kavya Patel top-scored with an unbeaten 49, while Malay Shah contributed 39. Vidarbha bowlers Himanshu Kawale (3-23) and Kush Sharma (2-48) shared five of the nine wickets. In reply, Vidarbha got off to a solid start with Kush Sharma (36) and Gaurav Nikam (58) adding 78 runs for the first wicket. Gaurav and Malhar Dosi added another 54 runs for the third wicket to take the score to 133.

 

Parth Khure and Himanshu Kawale managed to tie the scores but couldn’t get their team across the line. In Super Over, Vidarbha managed to score 10 runs while Gujarat took only 4 deliveries to win.
