Union Minister for Social Justice and Empowerment Dr Virendra Kumar Khatik expressed strong confidence that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) will return to power in Bihar with a clear majority.

He stated that the people have already made up their minds in favour of the alliance. Speaking to media persons in Jabalpur, Dr. Khatik said the election in Bihar is almost decided even before voting. The NDA is set to form the government with full majority. Taking a jibe at the opposition, he said that the Mahagathbandhan neither has a policy nor leadership. He mocked the opposition for its indecisiveness, saying those who could not finalise their candidates till the last day are in no position to challenge the

NDA, neither yesterday nor today. On being asked about the selection of Tejashwi Yadav as the opposition’s face, Dr. Khatik quipped they have made the best choice available to them. We,

on the other hand have several capable leaders, he added. Referring to the fodder scam, he said that families involved in corruption and scams for years have lost the people’s trust, while the NDA’s long record of consistent work and governance has strengthened its credibility. The people of Bihar have seen, understood and recognised the difference.

They have faith in the NDA’s experience and performance. Commenting on the Congress Party, Dr. Khatik said that it should first focus on rebuilding its organisational structure before talking about providing training to others. When questioned about the visit of Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Chief Mohan Bhagwat to Jabalpur, the Union Minister said that Bhagwat’s programmes are scheduled months in advance and that no one can direct or influence them. These are never sudden or politically motivated, he added.

He further stated that both the RSS and the NDA are driven by a spirit of national interest and social service, which continues to earn them the trust and support of the people. Dr Khatik expressed confidence that the NDA’s proven record of governance and development will once again lead to a decisive victory in Bihar.
