Chief Minister Dr Mohan Yadav flagged off international mountaineer Anjana Yadav on Sunday from Samatva Bhavan, his official residence, as she embarked on a 4,000-kilometer cycling journey under the ‘New India – Green India’ Pedal to Plant initiative. The programme is dedicated to 150th birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and aims to promote environmental protection, Indian cultural values, and social harmony. Anjana Yadav, a native of Semari village in Raisen district, will cycle from Arunachal Pradesh to Gujarat, spreading awareness about sustainability and unity.

Along the way, she and her team will plant trees and engage with communities to share the message of a greener, stronger India inspired by Sardar Patel’s vision of national integration and progress. A seasoned mountaineer, Anjana has scaled 20 international peaks over the past five years. Her next goal is to conquer Mount Everest, world’s highest summit, in 2026. Her journey reflects not only physical endurance but also a deep commitment to social causes and environmental stewardship. The Pedal to Plant campaign blends patriotism with ecological responsibility, encouraging citizens to take active roles in preserving nature while honoring the legacy of national leaders. Chief Minister Yadav praised Anjana’s dedication and called her an inspiration for youth across the state and country.
