The Department of Psychology at Shri Vishwanath Yadav Tamskar Postgraduate Autonomous College, Durg (Science College) successfully organised an online lecture on stress management by Dr Kamlesh Singh, Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi.
The programme began with a welcome address by the college’s Principal, Dr Ajay Singh. Principal stated that no one is immune to mental stress these days. Stress also has physical symptoms, which can be clearly seen.
He emphasised that this
topic is very relevant.
Semester exams are coming soon. Students need to be aware of stress management.
The keynote speaker, Dr Kamlesh, Professor, Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, brilliantly outlined all aspects of stress and stress management.
He explained the causes of stress in simple terms and highlighted psychological, behavioral,
cognitive, and personality
modification techniques to
overcome stress.
He highlighted the MOVERS technique for stress management. He said that meditation, time management, self-analysis, reading, and the flow of pure oxygen into the respiratory system are essential for everyone.
Dr Rachita Srivastava, Head of the Department of Psychology, conducted the programme,
highlighting the main theme of the lecture.
At the end of the programme, Pushpalata Nirmalkar, Lecturer, proposed a vote of thanks. The students remained active throughout the lecture session, quenching their curiosity by asking questions of the expert.
