Senior Congress leader, Avinash Pandey has been entrusted with the responsibility of overseeing the party’s strategy during upcoming Assembly elections in Bihar. Pandey, at present, is In-charge of Uttar Pradesh Congress. According to sources, Pandey’s appointment has a greater significance considering the infighting in the party in Bihar. Known for his articulate way of handling political issues, it was Pandey who prevented division in Rajasthan Congress when conflict between Ashsok Gehlot, the then Chief Minister and Sachin Pilot, the then Deputy Chief Minister reached its peak.

 

Pandey was instrumental in denting Bharatiya Janata Party in Uttar Pradesh during Lok Sabha polls in 2024. After party’s announcement of bestowing major responsibility on his shoulders, Pandey, in a tweet, said, “I will be on a Bihar tour, taking charge of organisational coordination and strategy for the upcoming elections. This is not just an election but a decisive moment that will shape Bihar’s future.” While talking to ‘The Hitavada’ on phone from Bihar, Avinash Pandey said, “Our senior leader Krishna Allavaru will be heading the committee for the overall party management in Bihar.

 

We are confident of major victory in Bihar. All our party workers are ready to face the polls. The citizens of Bihar are not happy with the present Government that has driven unemployment, the issues like migration, underdevelopoment are haunting Bihar people. It is the mission of Rahul Gandhi to reconnect with the public.” Pandey who hails from Nagpur has served in the Maharashtra Legislative Council. He became Rajya Sabha member in 2010 through elections. Pandey has good connect with Rahul Gandhi and Priyanka Gandhi both.
