Entry to the Shaheed Gowari flyover in Sitabuldi has now been restricted only for light vehicles while movement of heavy vehicles has been completely prohibited on it. According to officials, the height barrier installed on the bridge has been damaged several times due to heavy vehicles trying to pass through. This repeated damage not only causes inconvenience but also poses a serious risk to life and safety of other commuters using the flyover.

 

To prevent any such accidents in future, the authorities have now decided to ban entry of heavy vehicles on the flyover permanently. The Executive Engineer of the World Bank Project Department has made an appeal in a press release to all drivers to strictly follow this rule and ensure that no heavy vehicle uses the flyover under any circumstances.
