City’s Dr Mukherjee listed in World’s top scientists by Stanford University

Dr Anirban Goutam Mukherjee of Nagpur brought laurels to the city as he is recognised and listed among World’s top scientists by Stanford University recently. Dr Mukherjee is an alumnus of Chanda Devi Saraf (CDS) School and Junior College. Dr Mukherjee earned his Ph.D from the School of Biosciences and Technology (SBST), Vellore Institute of Technology (VIT), specialising in Toxicology and Cancer Biology. He emerged as the city and zonal topper in both ICSE and ISC examinations in academics. He completed his B.Sc. from Rashtrasant Tukadoji Maharaj (RTM) Nagpur University, where he was ranked first in Bio Sciences and fifth overall, receiving both the University’s Best Student Award and Best Outgoing Student Award from DRB Sindhu Mahavidyalaya.
 
He was also honoured with the J K Pattabirama Chettiyar Family Trust Endowment Award (2020–2021) and consecutive Merit Scholarships for his exemplary performance. Dr Mukherjee stands as a researcher with over 55 publications in reputed international journals indexed in SCI, SCIE, and Scopus. His inclusion in Stanford University’s elite list of top scientists underscores his global research impact. He also bagged Raman Research Award, Dr APJ Abdul Kalam Award, and prestigious invitations to international programs such as the Sakura Science Exchange Programme (Japan) and SERB’s Karyashala High-End Workshop (2024) at the Central University of Punjab.
