Gun For Glory (GFG) Shooting Academy’s two talented shooters made the nation proud by winning a gold and a silver medal in the ongoing Tokyo Deaflympics 2025, on Monday. Representing the Indian team, Dhanush Srikanth and Mohammad Vaniya showcased remarkable skill and composure to secure gold and silver medals respectively.

In the Qualification Round, Dhanush Srikanth set a new world record with an extraordinary score of 630.6. Mohammad Vaniya also performed strongly, scoring 626.3 to qualify comfortably for the finals. In the final match, both Indian shooters demonstrated outstanding determination, discipline and technical excellence.

Dhanush clinched the gold medal, securing the top position, while Mohammad delivered an impressive performance to seize the silver medal, ensuring a double podium finish for India. It may be noted that Dhanush is enrolled under Project Leap at the Gun for Glory Chennai branch, while Mohammad trains at the Jabalpur branch.

Mohammad had visited Jabalpur in August, just before the Deaflympics trials, for specialised training under senior coach Nishant Nathwani, where he refined his technical and mental preparation. The remarkable achievements of Dhanush and Mohammad will undoubtedly inspire upcoming shooters and pave the way for new milestones in Indian shooting sport.
