ALL-ROUNDER Harsh Dubey will lead Vidarbha’s 17-member squad in the upcoming Syed Mushtaq Ali (T20) Trophy (SMAT) to be played in Lucknow from November 26 to December 8, 2025. Yash Thakur will be the vice-captain of the team. VCA’s Senior Selection Committee, which met on Friday, picked the team on the basis of the performance of players. Dubey and Thakur were part of the India A side which played the semi-final of the Rising Stars Asia Cup in Doha.

 

The team also included veteran pacer Umesh Yadav who has recovered from a knee injury. Yadav was out of action for more than six months. Hard-hitting batter Apoorva Wankhade and left-handed batsman Shubham Dubey, who were part of Jitesh Sharma-led Vidarbha squad last season, missed the bus. Vidarbha are placed in Group A and will play their first match against Chhattisgarh on November 26 at Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium B in Lucknow.
