A spree of hooliganism and lawlessness continues to plague the State capital. Sensational incidents reported over the past week in four separate areas, Gandhi Nagar, Misrod, Jatkhedi, and Shahpura, have not only raised serious questions about police effectiveness but have also deepened the sense of insecurity among citizens. Senior citizens, colony residents, and the general public have united to demand an increase in police patrols, strict action against groups involved in hooliganism, and, crucially, increased police visibility (presence) especially during the night. Citizens argue that until the police are effectively visible on the streets, the morale of criminals will not be broken.
