Seth Kesarimal Porwal College emerged champions of the inter-college football tournament organised by the Department of Physical Education and Sports, the other day. Porwal College defeated Hislop College 3-2 in an exciting summit clash. Mohd Faisal, Mohd Danish (two goals) scored for the winners while Hislop’s goals came from Aditya Chandane and Chris Joseph. Earlier in the semi-finals, Hislop College defeated Tirpude College of Management 2-0 with both goals scored by Rahil Shaikh, while SK Porwal College registered an emphatic 4-0 victory over Priyadarshini Engineering College.

 

Mohd Owais (two), Zeeshan Ahmed, and Mohd Faisal scored the goals. The third-place match saw Priyadarshini Engineering College beat Tirpude College of Management 1-0 with Kapil Mall scoring the winning goal. The tournament was graced by Director of Sports, Dr Sambhaji Bhosale, along with management representative Akhil Porwal.

 

The prize distribution was attended by CEO of SPM Dr SS Dhondge, accompanied by Secretary Vijay Kumar Sharma, Prof Dr Vinay Chavan, Principal Dr SR Dahat, Vice-Principals Dr Manish Chakravarty and Dr Renu Tiwari, and several faculty members. The Sports Department of Porwal College worked hard for the success of the tournament The event was conducted under the overall supervision of Dr Indrajit Basu of SK Porwal College. The university selection trials will be held from 24 to 26 November from 2 pm onwards at SK Porwal College ground, Kamptee.
