SIHORA police have arrested a
habitual vehicle thief and recovered eight stolen motorcycles
valued at around Rs 5 lakh. The
arrested accused has been identified as Sonu alias Sushil
Bhoomiya (36), son of Biharilal
Bhoomiya, resident of Deori
Amgawan in Majholi. According
to Sihora police, on October 6, a
Honda CD 100 motorcycle was
stolen from in front of Sabzi
Mandi Stadium.
On November
11, another Hero Splendor Plus
was stolen from outside Poda
Indian Oil Petrol Pump.
Police scanned CCTV footage,
questioned previously arrested
property offenders and deployed
informers. Acting on a tip-off,
police apprehended Sonu alias
Sushil Bhoomiya, a habitual
criminal and earlier involved in
multiple vehicle thefts. During
interrogation, he repeatedly misled the police but sustained questioning finally led to revelations.
The accused confessed to stealing two bikes in Sihora and six
others from Majholi, Majhgawan,
Ghamapur and Ranjhi areas.
Police retrieved eight stolen vehicles near the bushes by a quarry
in Silodi village. The accused was
presented before court and sent
to judicial custody. The thief was
arrested by police team led by
SHO, Sihora, Vinod Bagri comprised of Constables, Neeraj
Chourasia, Devaraj Kaurav and
Sandeep Pandey.
