THE two-day Annual Action
Plan-2026 workshop for all
Krishi Vigyan Kendras (KVKs)
operating under Jawaharlal
Nehru Agricultural University
(JNAU) in Jabalpur commenced
on Wednesday.
The event, held at Directorate
of Extension Services, convened
agricultural scientists to strate
gise for future farming challenges and implementation of
advanced technology crucial for
the vision of a developed India.
Present as chief guest, Dr
Pramod Kumar Mishra, Vice
chancellor, JNAU, emphasised
the critical need for agricultural scientists to be prepared for
future challenges and ensure
the timely and directional imple
mentation of new agricultural
technologies.
He stressed the
importance of effectively dis
seminating KVK activities to the
farming community.
Special guest Dr S R K Singh,
Director, ICAR ATARI Zone,
urged to improve the presenta
tion of new technology, advo
cating for formats that allow
farmers to access information in
a simple and accessible manner.
Dr T R Sharma, Director,
Extension Services, highlighted
the utility of workshop, noting
its relevance to new agricultur
al schemes launched by the
Prime Minister.
Dr G K Kotu, Director,
Research Services, elaborated
that the action plan specifically incorporates elements such as utilisation of crop varieties
developed over the past five
years, promotion of timely
sowing, Direct Seeded Rice
(DSR) technology and a focus
on soil health management.
Senior scientists and heads
from 26 KVKs are scheduled
to present their detailed 2026
action plans through
PowerPoint presentations over
the two days.
These plans include farmer
centric initiatives such as On
Farm Trials (OFT), Frontline
Demonstrations (FLD), tar
geted training programmes,
crop cafeterias, and demon
stration units established on
both KVK and district farmers’
fields.

Teaching). The workshop pro
ceedings were managed by sci
entist Dr Pramod Gupta, who
also proposed a vote of thanks.
