4 COPS KILLED, ANOTHER CRITICAL after container collides head-on with police vehicle

IN A horrific road accident, a
speeding container truck collid
ed head-on with a police vehi
cle, killing four policemen. The
unfortunate accident occurred
on Wednesday morning near
Bandri on National Highway 44
in Sagar.
Four police personnels
were killed in the accident, while
one was seriously injured and
was airlifted to Ganga Ram
Hospital in Delhi. According to information, the
bomb disposal squad and dog
squad from Morena district were
on duty in Balaghat.
The police
men were participating in an
anti-Naxal operation. From
there, they were returning in a
BD-DS vehicle (number MP 03
A 4883) to Morena. This police vehicle collided
with a container coming from
opposite direction at Jhinjhani
Valley near Bandri on the
National Highway. The impact was so severe that
four policemen, including the
dog master, lost their lives.
According to information, con
struction work on an underpass
is underway on NH-44. Due to
this, traffic on the highway near
Bandri has become one-way. This
led to this head-on collision.
Four personnel died on the
spot. They have been identified
as constable Pradhuman Dixit,
constable Aman Kaurav, driver
Paramlal Tomar, all residents of
Morena, and dog master Vinod
Sharma, hailing from Bhind.
The
bodies are being brought to
Morena. Another constable Rajiv
Chauhan (a resident of Morena)
was seriously injured in the acci
dent. He was immediately tak
en to Bansal Hospital in Bhopal,
where his condition was report
ed to be critical. Notably, a dog
that was part of the squad was
safe.
The collision between the con
tainer and the police vehicle was
so severe that the driver and con
stable were trapped inside the
vehicle. The police vehicle was
completely damaged from the
front. The bodies were removed
by cutting the vehicle with the
help of a JCB. A Panchnama was
then prepared and the bodies
were sent to Bandri Hospital.
Prima facie, it seems the police
vehicle’s driver lost control of the
wheels, which led to the accident,
the official said.
