Staff Reporter :
FOLLOWING completion of digitising
100% of the voter roll count sheets in
all the eight assembly constituencies
of Jabalpur district under Special
Intensive Revision (SIR) programme,
effors are now underway to identify
voters whose counting forms have not
yet been received and as a result, have
been included in the list of adsentees
or transferred voters.
BLOs are going through the names
of these ASDR category voters, which
has resulted in slight decrease in the
number of voters in this category.
Out of 19,25,472 voters in the dis
trict, 2,60,591 are such voters whose
counting forms have not been received
or are uncollectible. These voters
include 51,004 deceased voters, 75,895
absent voters and 1,18,303 permanently relocated voters. If the counting forms are not
received, the names of such voters
may be removed from the voter list.
According to the District Election
Office, voters who have not yet com
pleted their counting forms still have
two days left.
Such voters can com
plete and submit the counting forms
to their BLOs on December 10th and
11th, otherwise their names will not
be included in the voter list.
According to the District Election
Office, among the voters whose count
ing forms have been digitized, the
number of voters whose names have
not been mapped to the 2003 voter
list has also decreased. As of now, the
number of voters with no mapping
has dropped to 107,638. Continued
efforts to map these unmapped vot
ers to the 2003 voter list may further
reduce this number.
As per details, voters (absent, transferred, deceased, and repeat) whose
counting forms have not yet been
received include 21,552 in Patan
Assembly constituency, 24,340 in
Bargi, 50,674 in Jabalpur East, 26,835
in Jabalpur North, 41,378 in Jabalpur
Cantt, 46,480 in Jabalpur West, 30,844
in Panagar, and 18,488 in Sihora
Assembly constituency. These ASDR
voters constitute 13.53 percent of the
district's total voters.
