When the increasing leopard population and their attack on humans in Maharashtra has become a matter of debate in both the Houses at the ongoing Winter Session, another leopard attack incident in Pardi area in Nagpur city attracted limelight in State politics on Wednesday.
The leopard created panic among citizens of Pardi area on Wednesday morning, injuring seven persons, including one five-year-old girl, all residents of Shiv Nagar in Pardi area. It took two hours for Forest Department to rescue the leopard as it turned ferocious and was attacking everyone who tried to block its path. The incident has sparked concern among residents and officials, and the matter is likely to be raised during the ongoing Winter Session at the Nagpur Vidhan Bhavan.
As the joke was getting too much, the Panel Speaker Sharad Patil sternly told Sonone that his dress-up is against the decorum and unbecoming of a Member of House. The Chair reminded Sonone that latter is senior Member and he knows the rules of the House and asked to clear the floor. Even as the Chair was dealing with the issue, Sonone ignored and stepped into the Well of the House. Later, with Patil issuing final warning, Sonone moved out of the House but succeeded in highlighting the seriousness of the issue.
Earlier, Sonone was cynosure of all eyes in the Vidhan Bhavan campus on Wednesday afternoon.
His attire made him star attraction as those around were curious to know the reason behind the act. The early morning drama of leopard in Pardi area of the city had already gone viral by the afternoon.
Sonone was critical of MahaYuti handling of the Leopard issue, saying the current stance of Forest Department has put people in the firing line as on the ground fear has gripped villagers in his constituency and other districts of the State too.
