Business Reporter:
MAHAKOSHAL Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (MCCI)
has appealed to the Fire
Authority and the
Commissioner of Jabalpur
Municipal Corporation (JMC)
requesting that action be taken
as pernorms for issuing Fire
Safety Certificates. The Chamber
has also appealed for identification of all buildings that fall
under the ambit of this require
ment and for issuing notices
accordingly, so that the neces
sary compliance can be com
pleted within the prescribed
timeline of December 31.
The Chamber noted that in
view of the rising fire incidents
across the country, the Central
Government has enforced Part
Four of the National Building
Code, applicable nationwide.
The Madhya Pradesh
Government is also in the
process of framing a dedicated
Act in this regard. Until then,
the relevant provisions of the
National Building Code will
remain valid.
Importantly, the Chamber
drew attention to Clause 3-2-7
under Part Four of the Code,
which clearly states that the pro
visions do not apply to previ
ously constructed buildings.
Ensuring compliance with this
clause, the Chamber said, would
help prevent unnecessary dis
satisfaction and opposition.
Chamber President Ravi
Gupta, Senior Vice-President
Shankar Nagdev, Junior Vice
President Yuvraj Jain Garhawal,
Secretary Akhil Mishra,
Treasurer Hemraj Agrawal, Co
Minister Gulshan Makhija,
Prabhat Jain, Coordinator
Rajesh Chandok, Organisation
Minister Anil Jain Pali and
Convenor Minister Sameer Pal
appealed to all concerned
stakeholders to strictly follow
fire safety rules to prevent fire
incidents and safeguard lives
and property.
