Superintendent of Police (SP) Sampat Upadhyay chaired a crime review meeting to ensure maintenance of law and order arrangements in the district. The meeting was attended by Additional SP City Ayush Gupta, Additional SP Traffic Anjana Tiwari, Additional SP Crime Jitendra Singh, along with all gazetted officers, police station in-charges and outpost in-charges.

During the meeting, the SP reviewed three-year comparative data of IPC/BNS crimes, preventive actions and cases under minor acts. He conducted an in-depth assessment of police-station-wise pending serious crimes including murder, attempt to murder, robbery, snatching, burglary, SC/ST Act cases and crimes against women and issued strict directions for their swift disposal. SP Upadhyay directed the officers to expedite investigations of pending serious crimes and ensure necessary action is taken without delay.

Under Operation Muskaan, make every possible effort to trace missing minor boys and girls. Teams must be immediately dispatched if children are found to be outside the district. Ensure priority disposal of complaints received through CM Helpline, senior offices and public hearings, with zero tolerance for negligence. In crimes against women, police should act with full sensitivity, arrest the accused promptly and complete investigation at the earliest so chargesheets can be filed quickly.

Carry out maximum execution of pending permanent warrants. All habitual offenders with two or more cases must be bound over under the Final Bond procedure so that any violation can lead to action under Section 141 BNSS (122 CrPC). For property-related crimes, intensify the search for accused persons and ensure recovery of stolen property. Declare rewards on absconding accused and send special teams outside the district if required for their arrest.

The SP closely reviewed all pending crime cases, property offences, unidentified accused cases, pending marg inquiries, and missing person cases. He sought detailed updates on progress and instructed station officers and gazetted officers to ensure arrests and recoveries at the earliest. Terming the remaining 20–21 days of the year as crucial, SP Upadhyay directed all officers to ensure that no criminal case remains pending without valid reason by December 31. This comprehensive review aims to enhance policing efficiency, strengthen accountability, and ensure timely justice delivery in Jabalpur district.
